Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Chit Chat (chitvideochat.com) handles when you use it, why, and what you can do about it. By using Chit Chat you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

• Account and device identifiers. When you tap Start, a guest account is created automatically and linked to an identifier for your device or browser. That’s what lets matching, coins and your settings work without a sign-up form.
• Profile details you choose to add. Such as a nickname, photo, age or language, if you fill them in.
• What you send in chats. Messages, photos and other media you send inside a conversation, so they can be delivered to the other person.
• Call and match information. Technical details about matches and calls — when they started and ended, which mode you used, connection quality — needed to run the service and bill calls correctly.
• Purchases. A record of coin purchases. Card and payment details are handled by third-party payment processors; we don’t store your full card number.
• Reports. When you report someone, or someone reports you, the reason, description, screenshots and related conversation details needed to review it.
• Usage data. Device type, browser, approximate location (derived from your IP address) and how you use the site.

Camera and microphone

Chit Chat only asks for your camera and microphone when you start a video or voice chat, and only uses them if you allow it in your browser. You can withdraw that permission in your browser settings at any time, and you can always choose text chat instead.

To enforce our rules — including keeping minors off the service — still images may be captured during video matches and calls and reviewed for moderation and safety.

How we use information

• To match you with other people and carry your calls and messages
• To keep people safe: reviewing reports, enforcing the Terms, preventing fraud and abuse
• To process coin purchases and handle billing questions
• To keep the site working and figure out what to improve
• To comply with legal obligations

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in, remember your settings, and measure how the site is used. We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics for that measurement. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, but parts of Chit Chat — including staying logged in — may stop working.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it with service providers that help us run Chit Chat (for example hosting, video and messaging infrastructure, analytics and payment processing), with the person you’re chatting with (whatever you send them), and with authorities when the law requires it or when it’s needed to protect someone’s safety.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it to run the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and handle reports. After that it’s deleted or made anonymous.

Your choices

• Use Chit Chat as a guest, and share only the profile details you want to.
• Choose voice or text instead of video.
• Block anyone you don’t want to hear from again.
• Ask us to access or delete your account data by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your data.

Adults only

Chit Chat is only for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we may close it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Chit Chat after a change means you accept the updated policy.
